In 2021 we were commissioned by CIfA to design and deliver Toolkit for Finds Reporting: Roman Coinage.
Vianova’s work is compliant with CIfA’s Toolkit, delivering high quality Roman coin reports to clients throughout the UK.
We can assist clients throughout all stages of a project, from initial outline proposals to Project Designs and Written Schemes of Investigation, Scheduled Monument Consents and funding applications.
We manage fieldwork and post-excavation projects – from organising and running excavations, to initial post-ex Assessments, Updated Project Designs, final analysis and preparation of reports and publications.
Currently running the excavation project at Hinton St Mary on behalf of The British Museum.
FIELDWORK & POST-EXCAVATION
Archaeological fieldwork carried out for research and training – fieldwalking, evaluations and excavations. Currently running an important project at Hinton St Mary with The British Museum and Albion Archaeology that is exploring the immediate setting of the famous mosaic. Previous projects include important excavations at Caerleon and Water Newton.

Our network of experienced external specialists means we can arrange identification, analysis and reporting for most categories of finds. Expertise in Roman artefacts, including small finds and ceramics, but also Prehistoric lithics and Medieval ceramics

We have contributed to national and regional research frameworks, as well as reviews of professional standards and policies.
ILLUSTRATION & DESIGN
Large format scanning; artefact illustration (particular expertise in ceramics and lithics); digitisation of site plans and sections; reconstructions (site, buildings, objects and historical figures).
Graphic design; Desktop publishing (books, articles, leaflets and pamphlets); public signage; museum exhibitions and catalogues.
